UPDATE AND NEW NOVEMBER CHALLENGE...

I have been MIA the last couple of months...I am a horrible blogger!!!

I havent stopped my training but have changed it up some. I am happy to report I am up to running a mile but...I still have 2 more miles to add onto that by December 5th!!! I am stressing but right now I am running 6 days a week and believe I can do it!!

I noticed a difference for the first time after this past Saturday. I participated in the Susan G. Kome Race for the Cure. Which by the way was A-freakin-MAZING!!!!! And boy did I learn a lesson as well!!!!
This picture is a picture of the whole team and boy there are some wonderful people!!!

The next couple of pictures are pictures of our team shirts. How cute are they??!!! We had compliments left right and center!!!! Good job Whitney!!!

So back to the life lesson...some people arent who they seem to be. Sometimes you need to spend a little time with people to get to know the TRUE them!!!!

After the 5K walk (we decided to walk as a TEAM which was nice!!!) I usually go home and crash but...this time...I didnt take a nap!!! I also wasnt as sore as I usually am so I can definitely tell a difference!!! I felt great overall!!!

So now onto my new November Challenge. I have joined Bobbi's November Challenge which is POTM. You can read about it here. I have been able to do a little over 10 miles so far in 2 days!!! I hope to keep it up!!!

Well off to finish work and then to run and tonight I have YOGA and AEROBICS!!! WOOHOO!!! I havent been able to or felt up to doing Yoga and Aerobics in a couple of weeks and am looking forward to going back tonight!

Have a nice day!

RUN MANDY RUN....

So...for many many months now (more like years) I have always had this goal to run in a marathon. If many of you know me...you would laugh!!!

Well a couple of weeks ago I was talking to this guy and his wife at a party I was attending (cant remember his name...so we will call him and her G&G (guy and girl)) anyways...as I was talking to them they stated that they were both running the half marathon and I went on to say how much I would love to do that!!!

Well did you know...there is 13 weeks left in the St. Jude marathon? He assured me that if I would train hard the next 14 (at the time it was 14 weeks) weeks that I would be able to run the 5K...he stated I could possibly run the half marathon and then I laughed at him so in all...I am in the process of training for a 5K!!!
Now dont get me wrong...I have walked many 5K's and many people say its only 3.1 miles which is true but have YOU ever tried to run 3.1 miles all at once?? Its not as easy as it sounds...trust me!!!

SO to begin with I did some research...and found a couple of good websites. The first one was Memphis Runners Association and the second one (which is more up my alley) Couch Potatoes. I have decided to go with the couch potatoe website which assured me that I can definitely run a 5k in 9 weeks. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

I am on week 2 and it is definitely difficult!!! But running gives me a sense of freedom in a way...I just dont know how to explain it.

Here is a question to ponder...there is a point in running where you just want to GIVE up...but if you can push yourself past this point you feel great and can run longer and harder. How do you get past this point?

So for now...I am off to keep training for my 5K and next year...its onto a half marathon!!!!
